One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has shared his thoughts on the upcoming One Piece live-action series, which is set to premiere next month. The Manga’s creator assures fans that the adaptation is ready to set sail, and invites viewers to join him in watching the Anime.
Involvement in the Live-Action Series
In a video interview with Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), Oda discusses his involvement in the development of the One Piece live-action series. The creator talks about the challenges of bringing the beloved manga and anime to live-action format, and expresses his excitement and hopes for the success of the adaptation.
“The live-action series is about to start,” Oda says. “I’m really grateful to be able to see the world of One Piece in a new format. I think it’ll be a fresh, unique experience of the One Piece world. Please join me in watching it.”
The creator reveals that he has been closely working with the production team to maintain the essence of One Piece. “The anime is produced by Toei Animation, but this time, we’re working with a different company,” Oda explains.
“We’ve been working very closely so that it’ll have the same feel as the original manga and anime. I’m really confident that the fans will really love it.”
Casting and Skepticism
Oda also discusses the casting process and shares his confidence in the chosen actors. The creator acknowledges the skepticism surrounding live-action adaptations but encourages fans to give it a chance.
“There are a lot of people who don’t think live-action adaptations are as good as the originals,” Oda says. “But I’m sure the actors did their best to live up to their roles, so please watch it with an open mind.”
Bringing One Piece to Life
The creator highlights the dedication and hard work of the production team in bringing One Piece to life and expresses his desire for the live-action series to capture the spirit and adventure of One Piece.
