The Raspberry Pi Pico: The Perfect Small Computer for DIY Projects

The Raspberry Pi Pico is the perfect small computer to use in a DIY project, and SVS Embedded has used one to create a bank locker security system. The kit includes a locking mechanism and implements dual factor authentication using fingerprint data and an authentication code.

SVS Embedded has created a ton of Raspberry Pi projects in the past, from a hand gesture to speech project to a Pico crash detection robot. This new project utilizes a number of different components, but the Raspberry Pi Pico is the real star of the show.

The hardware used in this Raspberry Pi project includes a Raspberry Pi Pico module, a display module, a GSM module, an R307 fingerprint scanner, an alarm, a locking mechanism, and a keypad.

If you’re familiar with setting up the Pi, you should be able to sort out the code yourself, but SVS Embedded also offers the software for purchase if you want to get right to putting it to use. You can see the device in action in the demo video below, which showcases all the components and how they work together.

If you want to replicate this Raspberry Pi project, you can find details on purchasing the project kit in the video description.
