Wondering what the story is with the Xianzhou Luofu in Honkai: Star Rail? The Xianzhou Luofu plays a central role in the game's storyline, but you won't be the one to explain it. After successfully resolving the Stellaron crisis on Jarilo-VI, the Astral Express crew sets their sights on The Xianzhou Luofu, albeit not entirely willingly. Similar to other games in the Hoyoverse, the main story in Honkai: Star Rail starts off relatively slow, beginning with your defeat of the Doomsday Beast in Herta Space Station.
The Journey to The Xianzhou Luofu
In order to reach The Xianzhou Luofu, you must first tackle the Stellaron crisis on Jarilo-VI, where the Supreme Guardian herself has fallen under the corrupting influence of the Stellaron. Once you have completed all the necessary tasks on Jarilo-VI, you make your way back to the Astral Express, where Pom-Pom suggests taking a few days of rest before the next expedition.
During this downtime, Jing Yuan engages in a conversation with a prisoner who seems to remember him. The scene transitions to Dan Heng's dream on the express, where a similar dialogue takes place, revealing that he is somehow connected to the prisoner. Kafka expresses her desire to change the destination of the Express, mentioning that it is only two warp jumps away and recently experienced a Stellaron Burst 45 system hours ago.
Considering Dan Heng's history with the Luofu, as glimpsed in his dreams, he decides to sit out on this particular expedition. Upon arriving at the destination, Dan Heng explains that although the Luofu is a ship, the Xianzhou natives refer to it as a planet. However, upon arrival, no natives are to be found.
Discovering Tingyun and the Trailblazers
As you progress through the Luofu, you encounter several unconscious soldiers who implore you to proceed further. After a battle, you meet Tingyun, the Amicassador for the Luofu Sky-Faring Commission merchant guild.
However, engaging in a conversation with Yukong proves to be more challenging, as she initially rejects your offer to assist. Yukong reveals that the Trailblazers cannot leave until certain questions are answered, prompting Jing Yuan to intervene and express his trust in the crew. He tasks them with capturing Kafka.
After the cutscene concludes, you retire to your hotel to rest for the night. The Trailblazers attempt to contact Dan Heng, but their messages go undelivered. Realizing that his past has caught up with him, Dan Heng decides to venture down to the Luofu on his own.
Unraveling Kafka's Clues
The next day, you engage in a conversation with Tingyun, who introduces you to Diting. The Trailblazers, along with Tingyun, embark on an extensive search for Kafka, during which they discover that she intentionally left clues to lead them to her.
Prior to their confrontation, Kafka expresses her belief that Welt holds the Stellaron Hunters in too high regard, considering them to be mere pawns of Destiny. The battle against Kafka persists until Fu Xuan makes an appearance, leading to a revolt by the Astral Express crew. Eventually, Kafka agrees to accompany them.
The Sky-Faring Commission and the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus
At this point, a special quest commences with Dan Heng's message, as the group makes their way to the Sky-Faring Commission. Additionally, a side quest is triggered in the Exalting Sanctum area.
The following day, you receive a message informing you of an escort waiting for you at the plaza. You learn that the tree in the plaza was once a cherished treasure of the Xianzhou, towering high into the sky. Tragically, it was destroyed by the Stellaron Hunters.
Meanwhile, Kafka reveals that she cannot leave until she finds her missing master. She also expresses her belief that the Trailblazers hold the Stellaron Hunters in too high regard, viewing them as mere servants of Destiny.
Ultimately, the Trailblazers locate Kafka's missing master, who has become fused with a Stellaron Burst.
