So, the 'EVE Online is spreadsheets in space' joke, which has been made many times over the years, is now officially dead. Why? Because of a collaboration between CCP games and Microsoft, players can now seamlessly access and analyze all their various in-game data across all their accounts and characters using Excel. Yes, you read that right. Spreadsheets in space.

EVE Excel Add-On

The EVE Excel add-on is now available for download. It allows players to create custom reports, graphs, and charts, providing deep insights into their in-game activities and making it easier to strategize their next steps. It tracks corporation activities, long- and short-term assets with locations, item values, market orders and prices, wallet transactions, skills, and corporation finances.

According to CCP games, 'The amount of information available to players has seen a definite uptick in recent years as our web and mobile apps continue to grow in size. But this integration helps level the playing field for everyone, adding more fairness and accessibility to New Eden. Excel and she is not to be trifled with!' The integration with Microsoft Excel has only scratched the surface and there is a lot more potential to explore.

Microsoft Office 365 Integration

Microsoft's Head of Product for Excel, Catherine Pidgeon, believes that this integration is not just great for Excel, but for Microsoft Office 365 as a whole. Excel is a core part of Office, and partnering with CCP to bring it to EVE Online players is truly exciting. Microsoft hopes that this collaboration will inspire a new group of players to embrace and utilize this powerful data tool in all facets of their lives.

The EVE Excel add-on FAQ showcases the capabilities of this integration. You can use it to view, update, and interact with your characters and corporations, manage asset information, view wallet overviews and transaction history, check kill stats, and monitor trained skills. Additionally, you can use it to manage market orders and access various guides and resources provided by EVE Academy and the EVE Help Centre.

In a NSFW player interaction stream, it was revealed that using the new integration to bankrupt a corporation by placing sell orders at $0 can result in the alliance executor revoking your access to EVE Online via EveGate.
