Warzone 2 temporarily removes Plunder Quads and Rebirth Island Mini Royale Quads

One or more of the Warzone 2 playlists has been temporarily removed by the FPS game’s developers amid suspicions of XP farming in the FPS game – that is, the use of exploits in order to quickly gain experience. Players speculate that rapid XP farming may have prompted the removal of Plunder Quads and Rebirth Island Mini Royale Quads, but the Warzone 2 devs have so far offered no official explanation.

Players suspect that excessively rapid XP farming in Warzone 2 may have prompted the temporary disablement of Plunder Quads and Rebirth Island Mini Royale Quads. The former is a high-yield mode in which players gain experience quickly, while the latter is a very fast iteration of the popular mode, which sees players trying to capture points on the island of Rebirth.

The modes are popular among the Warzone 2 community, and the sudden unavailability of them has prompted some players to voice their disappointment and frustration. Others, meanwhile, speculate that the active playlists have been removed to allow the developers time to evaluate and respond to any issues related to XP farming.

“There was a lot of XP farming going on in Plunder Quads and Rebirth Island and the devs have disabled the playlists until they can fix it,” a player comments on Reddit. “It’s been going on for a few months and the devs have done nothing about it but now they’ve disabled the playlists to fix it.”

“I think they disabled the playlists because they found a way to detect XP farming and now they can permaban people,” another comment reads.

XP farming, or the use of exploits in order to gain experience points quickly, is an ongoing issue in a number of online multiplayer games. Concerns over potential negative impacts on fair gameplay and competition are a major factor in the ongoing debate about how to tackle the issue.

So far, the Warzone 2 devs have offered no official statement about the reason for the playlist removal. We will update this piece with any further information.
