Wonderful Retro Gaming Gallery

What do you do when you come across a great Retro gaming gallery? If you’re like me, you spend a few minutes scrolling through and getting a warm, fuzzy feeling inside as you reminisce about a time when a controller simply connected to a console with a wire, and the term “indie games” didn’t really exist.

This collection of Nintendo controllers and consoles comes from the user of an “old retro games” Discord server and is shared on Reddit. They’re neatly organized and clean, and many of them still work. Some of the consoles have seen better days, with one user sharing the story of having two copies of Super Mario World because they accidentally damaged their first console while playing the game. Other users recommend using a Super Nintendo as a shelf or table, since their design makes them prone to overheating.

If you’re a fan of old games, you’ll likely have fond memories of the games in this collection. “Saw this on Reddit and thought I’d share my collection with you all,” the original poster writes. “Most of my collection are games I played when I was a kid. Some of them I still play.” One user replies, “I’m going to spend an evening playing Carrier Aces.” Another says, “I had the original Mechwarrior,” while another replies with, “I had the original Mechwarrior 2.” One mentions the black Killer Instinct cartridge being a favorite.

You can check out the gallery in the Imgur link below, and let your own nostalgia take over.

“A lot of people have fond memories of their old controllers”, one user writes. “I’m one of them.” They continue, “I miss my own collection and regret not having it anymore.” If you’re one of the many people who have sold their old consoles, cartridges, and controllers, this should serve as a reminder of what you’re missing out on.
