But what could have been the catalyst for Francis Bourgeois to start using a name that isn’t his own?

Francis Bourgeois and His Chosen Name
“You might have been wondering why I’m using a pseudonym on TikTok. So was I,” Francis Bourgeois says in a recently posted video, appearing almost bashful about the whole thing. As it turns out, his chosen name isn’t his real one, but he does go by it on TikTok.
“It’s not actually my real name. It’s a naming technique I came up with, which I then used as a pseudonym on TikTok,” Francis Bourgeois continues, adding that he finds the name very appropriate for his trainspotting videos. “You make a mountain out of a molehill,” he tells his viewer, while acknowledging their curiosity.
Francis Bourgeois clarifies that the name isn’t meant to be a joke or a twist of any sort, yet explains why he prefers to preserve his privacy on the app. “There is a need to separate my TikTok persona from my personal life, so there’s a certain level of mystery surrounding everything that I do on it,” he says. This, of course, is completely understandable, and something many content creators do themselves, as well.
