The Royal Tools
At the beginning of Disney Dreamlight Valley, three Royal Tools are available: the Royal Pickaxe, Royal Shovel, and Royal Watering Can. These tools serve general purposes such as mining rocks and planting crops, but they have limitations. For instance, they cannot destroy rare objects like coral, tree stumps, or large mushrooms.
Advanced tools become accessible as you progress through your daily Dreamlight Duties, Friendship Quests, and Biome Quests, but you must complete these tasks before unlocking them.
Royal Pickaxe
The Royal Pickaxe is used for mining rocks and collecting minerals such as Iron Ore, Emeralds, and Aquamarine. These minerals can be used to craft various other tools and items within Dreamlight Valley.
The Royal Pickaxe has two upgrades: one from Maui in the Moana Realm and another from Elsa in the Frozen Realm. To unlock the first upgrade, complete Maui’s Friendship Quests and invite him back to Dreamlight Valley. You must also complete the quest 'A Tale of Stone and Fire' to obtain the Royal Pickaxe upgrade.
Unlocking the second upgrade requires completing Elsa’s Friendship Quests in the Frozen Realm. This will grant you the ability to mine rocks containing Emeralds, which can be used to craft Royal Furniture. Additionally, you can mine large rocks to unlock new areas within the Frozen Realm.
Royal Shovel

Royal Watering Can

Friendship Quests
Developing your community is crucial, and Friendship Quests play a vital role in achieving this. By completing Friendship Quests, you can befriend various characters in Dreamlight Valley. Completing these quests rewards you with Dreamlight, which can be used to unlock new Biomes and Realms.
The Dreamlight Valley Log displays available Friendship Quests. By accessing the Log, you can see which friends you can invite to Dreamlight Valley. Completing Friendship Quests not only unlocks new friends but also reveals additional Friendship Quests.
