The Asrock Arc A380 Low Profile Graphics Card

Asrock introduces the Intel Arc A380 Low Profile graphics card, catering to the underserved market that demands compact solutions without compromising performance. This innovative graphics card presents an opportunity to repurpose older office machines for Gaming setups, as well as upgrade living room PCs, media servers, and office PCs with non-functioning graphics capabilities.

The Asrock Arc A380 features the ACM-G11 GPU, a component that initially debuted in renowned products like the Asus ROG Ranger II. Boasting an impressive 1,024 stream processors clocked at a high frequency of 2.0GHz, it is paired with 6GB of GDDR6 memory.

Despite its low-profile design and a mere 75W total board power, the Asrock card draws all its power from the PCIe slot, rendering it compatible with even basic power supplies. As a result, there's no need for an external power source—a convenient feature for users seeking a hassle-free experience.

While the inclusion of a dual-fan cooler may seem unnecessary to some, it ensures optimal reliability for the Asrock card, particularly in compact systems and custom cases with limited slot availability. Although personal preferences may vary, the dual-slot cooler offers undeniable advantages.

However, uncertainties arise regarding the card's gaming capabilities. With a 1,024-stream processor count, it should handle most games at 1080p. Nonetheless, it may face challenges when confronted with modern, graphically demanding titles. Nevertheless, for those interested in less demanding games such as Fortnite and Overwatch, the Asrock card could serve as a significant upgrade over integrated graphics. Its PCIe 4.0 x8 interface also contributes to its compatibility with older systems, surpassing the RX 6400's x4 interface.

Asrock has not yet disclosed the price for the Arc A380 Low Profile. However, it is expected to be similar to the $120 price of the Asrock Arc A380 Challenger. Although not the most affordable option, it remains cheaper than most alternatives and offers a cost-effective solution compared to purchasing a gaming-friendly office machine.
