An Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 Overclocker Pushes the Limits

Renowned overclocker Allen ‘Splave’ Golibersuch has achieved a remarkable feat with the upcoming Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090. Utilizing liquid nitrogen cooling, Splave managed to push the AD102 GPU to an astounding clock speed of 3,945 MHz without any modifications to the card itself. This groundbreaking achievement surpasses the GPU's previous record for 3D workloads, utilizing the same tools and methods employed for other graphics cards.

The Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 is one of the most highly anticipated graphics cards of the year, designed with overclocking in mind. Splave's accomplishment suggests that it could potentially challenge for the title of the best graphics card right from the start.

In addition to the liquid cooling system, Splave replaced the stock Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 liquid cooling system with the Kingpin Cooling TEK-9 Icon Extreme GPU pot for LN2. To ensure adequate heat dissipation, he added three heaters and three ElmorLabs HOT300 heater controllers, resulting in an impressive overclock. All overclocking and tweaking were performed through BIOS settings and OC software.

Running at an astonishing 3,945 MHz, Splave was able to calculate Pi to 32,000,000,000 digits in a record-breaking 46.077 seconds. While GPUPi isn't a conventional graphics workload, it remains to be seen how the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 will perform in actual games.

However, 3D workloads are not the only strong suit of the AD102 GPU. Previously, Splave pushed the graphics card's clock speed record to 3,825 MHz without voltmodding, setting a world record in the Firestrike Extreme benchmark.

This achievement is significant as the AD102 GPU's record for 3D workloads currently stands at 3,825 MHz. Splave's success without the need for special tools or methods highlights the potential of the graphics card and its compatibility with standard overclocking techniques.

Unleashing the Power of the Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090

The Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 is set to make a significant impact even before its official release. Its record-breaking performance in the GPUPi benchmark demonstrates its potential for delivering exceptional graphics processing power, and showcases the relentless drive behind technological innovation.

Featuring a highly-custom printed circuit board (PCB) and a meticulously designed voltage regulating module (VRM), the Asus ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 stands out from the competition. The VRM can deliver up to 600W of clean power to the GPU and memory, which Splave suggests is a major factor in achieving successful overclocking.

The ability to achieve such high clock speeds without modifications or voltmodding highlights the impressive engineering behind the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090. Asus positions this graphics card as the top-of-the-line option for enthusiasts who demand the best performance and are willing to invest in it.

With the release date still a few weeks away, there’s ample time to explore the best graphics card options on the market.
