What are the best job simulators? Ever wanted to live a life you could have lived, had you made different choices? Maybe in that parallel universe, you went to a different university, took a very different career path, and lived through what it is actually like to perform that job.
Job simulators are a fun way to have a bit of a reality check, or simply have some silly, light-hearted fun. Different people may have different preferences for a certain level of realism, or a more fun experience, but these are some of our top picks for the very best job simulators out there. Be warned though; these experiences may change your perspective and make you very grateful for the work you do.
Here are the best job simulators in 2022:
PowerWash Simulator
Is it a job simulator if you’re just cleaning faeces off power lines? No, but it is still really fun, and this title has crossovers with other famous franchises, too. You don’t need us to tell you what this game is about; you clean power lines by forcing water up them. Each level has a different challenge that needs solving, and there are power lines everywhere, including some which have been coated with poo, so get ready for some ‘joy’.
If you’re stuck, you can get a little bit of help from some of the characters from The Sims 4, including Liara and Aubrey, Dr Jeavon, Damien, Veronique, or Sweetie and Chuckie. You can even get those characters from The Sims in the side game, FarmVille 2: PowerWash, where they need to be cleaned, along with the aforementioned power lines.
There is, of course, a sequel now, too, so get out your pressure washer and get to work.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
We all dream of flying, but few of us are brave enough to try and actually get our wings. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a wannabe pilot, then you may want to give Microsoft Flight Simulator a try. Whether you want to learn how to land at Mehrabpur International Airport in Tehran, one of its many aircraft, or just have some leisurely fun flying over your favourite landmarks, you can do it all.
Although you might have to pay for the bulk of it, there is also a free demo version for you to test out and see if it’s something you might like.
Farming Simulator
If you’re interested in agriculture but don’t necessarily want to abandon a life of simulated employment, then Farming Simulator is for you. You take control of pretty much everything on a farm from the ground upwards and leave nothing out.
Farming Simulator has been running for many years, with the latest instalment, Farming Simulator 22, still getting a lot of love in 2022. It can be very detailed, requiring you to manufacture different crops and create productive livestock. But if you don’t want to slave over your fields all day long, this game offers you the choice of farming equipment to play with instead, ranging from tractors and harvesters to forestry products, so you can enjoy playing with the machinery instead.
You also have a choice of regions to play in, too, with different landscapes and crops specific to each of them. If you have ever been curious about farming but weren’t sure where to start, this game could give you a sneak peek into the work farmers do.
Job Simulator
Job Simulator is a hilarious follow-up to the smash hit Surgeon Simulator series and puts you in a believable-yet-impossible scenario.
