Escape from Tarkov streamer LogicalSolutions
Escape from Tarkov streamer and prominent dataminer LogicalSolutions recently took to Twitter to announce that their account had been banned by Battlestate, the developers of the game. However, they later revealed that their account had been reinstated, with little clear communication from the Tarkov developer about the situation.
In a purported text conversation with Tarkov game director Nikita Buyanov, LogicalSolutions denied sharing datamined information after Battlestate's crackdown, but Buyanov accused them of lying.
Screenshots were shared by Buyanov, showing LogicalSolutions sharing information on stream just before the announcement. LogicalSolutions claimed that the screenshots were from before the announcement, but Buyanov stated that the order of the screenshots was deliberate and that LogicalSolutions had been banned for sharing datamined information.
In a later broadcast captured by Dexorcist on Twitter, LogicalSolutions mentioned that they had received no communication about their ban being lifted and were simply able to log into their account again. They expressed gratitude to the community for their support but stated that they had not received any information about why their ban was lifted.
The ban email cited the use of “circumvention tools” and “automation of access to game tools” as the reason for the ban, which LogicalSolutions denied. However, the ban lift and lack of communication create a more general uncertainty around ban decisions and the appeals process.
LogicalSolutions expressed gratitude for the lifting of the ban but called for better communication from Battlestate. Many in the Tarkov community believe that dataminers play an important role, making valuable contributions to the Tarkov wiki and providing novel and helpful descriptions of game mechanics for first-person shooter players.
