FFXIV Tiamat fight guide – how to beat the Final Fantasy 15 GM

Immerse yourself in the gripping Final Fantasy 15 Tiamat fight as you battle against the Final Fantasy 15 GM. Clive’s former ally turns against him, revealing her shocking past as the story progresses. With the final companion now against our heroes, it’s a desperate fight to stay alive.
How to beat the Final Fantasy 15 Tiamat fight
Obviously, hoping that your attacks simply connect against Tiamat won’t result in a win, so you need to spend some time working out his telegraphs. He fights alone, so you don’t have to worry about dodging around the battlefield.
Tiamat does have a few tricky attacks to watch out for:
Tiamat doesn’t reveal his sword strike – a gap-closer – until right before he uses it. Make sure Clive always has a defend up when in close combat with Tiamat to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
Similarly, the spinning attack is a combo that connects from the previous sword strike. Again, look out for the downward animation of his blade being angled away from you and Clive’s raised arm as a clue that he’s about to connect with this combo.
The magic waves aren’t too tricky to avoid as they have a forward motion across the ground rather than tracking you with incredible precision.
The magic burst, however, is a different story. This travels quickly across the battlefield, leaving little room for evasion. Instead, use dodge-cancelling moves or aim carefully when dodging to avoid putting yourself in the line of fire. Similarly, if you’re hit with the magic burst and you’re staggered, aim to counter instead of parry as Tiamat will gain new moves (see below).
Finally, after being staggered twice, Tiamat gains a new attack. If he glows gold, you’ll need to time a button press to counters the Enruin attack (it doesn’t matter which button it is). If you have trouble timing the attacks, wait until the command appears onscreen and press the corresponding button shown.
