Rumours about a new Genshin Impact game are getting heated, as a reliable source has revealed the anime game studio is a work a new title that will borrow the likes of Animal Crossing mechanics, and could emerge as a competitor to the Nintendo classic.

While we wait for the Genshin Impact devs to make an announcement, we’ve got some tidbits on what could be their next game. Life-sim games are a hot mess right now – from Animal Crossing, to Wasteland, Little Town, Village Life – our thirst is strong, and this news could potentially quench it.

According to leaker ‘Tidoshi’, who has shared accurate information about upcoming projects from various game studios in the past, the Genshin Impact team is working on a new RPG that’s a “full fledged RPG” and has “similar gameplay mechanics to Animal Crossing”.

The team at Genshin Impact has had tremendous success with their flagship title, and with a very dedicated fanbase, it’s no surprise they’d want to experiment with other genres and try to capture a wider audience.
