How to Get the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sensor Plus Upgrade
One of the Nintendo Switch game’s mechanics in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the Purah Pad, which grants users access to a suite of mechanics, including healing and bomb making. One of these modules is the “Sensor,” which can help you find items in the game.
The Tears of the Kingdom sensor module will track specific items in your general vicinity. You can use this to locate upgrade materials, treasure chests, and even hidden Bubbulfrogs. If you’re having trouble with these fiends, especially before you’ve upgraded Talus or Hella’s Wrath techniques, then you might want to consider tracking them with the sensor. You can find the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sensor upgrade in the main quest, “The Search for Robbie.”
How to Find the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sensor Plus
Later in the main quest, “The Search for Robbie,” you’ll help Robbie reach his lab in Hateno. To do this, Link must first unlock a broken Balloon device that he’s working on. Once Link finishes this task by talking to Robbie, he’s able to ascend to the top of Lookout Landing.
Up here, he and Josha are working on the Depths, where Robbie’s only sibling, Nada, has been imprisoned. In a conversation, you’ll be able to unlock the camera function using the following method.
After completing one of Purah’s “Regional Phenomena” quests, you’ll be asked to tag a Talus with rupees as a method of research at Lake Jarrah. Due to his help with the Balloon device in the previous quest, you’ll have access to Josha, who’s looking into the Depths. After completing this quest, you’ll be able to use the camera function and take pictures for the compendium, allowing you to complete all the minor quests.
When you fix Robbie’s balloon and leave for Hateno, head northwest over the bridge and up the ramp. You’ll notice a ladder now. Use your Grappling Hook to ascend and speak with Robbie. Ask him nicely to return to his lab to upgrade your Purah Pad. The inventor will give you access to the Shrine Sensor.
After completing the “Presenting: Sensor +” side quest, you’ll be able to take photos of enemies and expand your compendium. Robbie explains that you’ll need information on five separate monsters to unlock the upgrade’s functionality.
Once you’ve acquired at least five monster entries, return to the Lookout Landing area and take the Hylian Kitty’s path in the opposite direction. There’s a small alcove to the south of Slyeye Pond where Robbie will be waiting for you, ready to send you on your way.
Sensor + is the upgraded version of the Shrine Sensor and can be used to track any item from your compendium. Press Y when the map is open to discover a yellow dot revealing the item’s location. This is incredibly useful for finding upgrade materials, treasure chests, and those fiendish Bubbulfrogs.
