Cooler Master introduces new 12VHPWR cable

Cooler Master has introduced a new 12VHPWR cable that aims to address the issues faced by PC enthusiasts when using power supplies with melting and overheating connectors. This new solution offers better thermal performance, durability, and safety compared to existing products on the market. Cooler Master is already bundling the new cable with its GX III Gold 850W PSU.

According to Cooler Master, the biggest issue with current power connectors is their susceptibility to damage and subsequent melting, which can lead to failures or permanent damage to components. To combat this, the company has developed a 90-degree plug that not only improves cable management but also helps reduce the risk of damage to the connector.

Furthermore, Cooler Master's new connector boasts several key improvements. It operates at a lower temperature, approximately 5 degrees Celsius lower, and features 25% thicker contacts. Additionally, it has a 45% lower impedance change rate, 12% higher insertion withdrawal force, and utilizes four springs instead of two, enhancing its safety features.

Cooler Master's commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for PC enthusiasts is evident with the introduction of this new cable. The company is already including the new PSU with the Cooler Master GX III Gold 850W. However, it also plans to potentially include the new cable with other power supplies in the future.

Improving connectors poses challenges for manufacturers due to the strict compatibility standards set by organizations like PCI-SIG. In this case, Cooler Master's new connector is an improved version of the 12VHPWR that is 100% compatible and compliant with the pending 12V 2x6 standard connector.

If you acquire a new PSU with the upgraded 12VHPWR cable, you can easily connect it to your graphics card. However, it is crucial to properly plug it into your components to avoid any potential failures.
