The Raspberry Pi Pico W Powers the Galactic Unicorn Clock

The Raspberry Pi Pico W is the force behind the Galactic Unicorn clock, a one-of-a-kind timepiece that stands out with its customizable features. Designed by maker Charles, this clock draws inspiration from the popular Pico-based unicorn and adds an interactive element to its design.

Charles explains, "The Pico powers the clock, controlling the pixels through a Python script." The clock features the Pimoroni Galactic Unicorn with the Pico W mounted on a wide, flat matrix panel, resulting in a distinctive and eye-catching design.

Hardware and Software

In addition to the Pico W, the clock requires a power source, which can be either a battery pack or wall charger. The clock's software is written in MicroPython and is open source, with the code hosted on GitHub. Charles has plans to make the system compatible with Pimoroni's Cosmic Unicorn board in the future.
