Animal Care in Roots of Pacha

Do you want to know more about animal care in Roots of Pacha? OK Games' latest simulation game features plenty of cute and fuzzy animals. Unlike the human population in your settlement, livestock such as bison and mammoths can't communicate and are often too large to interact with regularly. However, you can help them grow and produce goods for when you do have time for interaction.

If you want animals to live in your village, befriend a few and invite them over. Just make sure to attend to their poop, as it can block pathways. Animals that produce goods like wool or fur can be traded or used to craft leather and clothes. They may also increase productivity, companionship, or Sanity stats. Make sure not to neglect them, as they can become unhappy or even die.

How to Play with Animals in Roots of Pacha

To develop livestock, progress through the early story and unlock ideas from Okka. During the second main story quest, 'Developing a Level-Headed Animal Race', you will learn how to develop an animal friend. Use this feat on animals, rather than the volatiles found in caves.

Purchase the flute from Okka for 100 renown. After completing the quest, you can interact with animals to make an animal friend. Use the flute to play a minigame with the animal. The animal will learn to trust you if you perform well. With enough trust, you can invite the animal to your village. Remember that the flute has a limited number of uses per day.

How to Care for Animals in Roots of Pacha

Once you have unlocked the idea for an animal shed and acquired the first bag, you can build it on the foundation in the Tools tab. Animal sheds can hold different numbers of animals depending on their size. Upgrade the sheds to improve the productivity of the animals.

Animals produce various goods, such as milk, eggs, mutton, cloth, and fur. Develop the Animal Husbandry idea from Okka to allow animals to produce milk. Feeding animals is important, and each animal has a specific type of food they eat. Make sure to clean up after them, as their poop can block pathways.

Check the animal's status to see their base production, quality, and speed stats, as well as their friendship level. Increasing friendship levels unlocks special interactions for each animal.
