The upcoming Barbie movie and its collaboration with Xbox
What’s pink, garish, and over the top? The upcoming Barbie movie, I’d argue. But it turns out that the collaboration between Xbox and Barbie goes way beyond the film to encompass some truly eye-catching, if not over the top, Gaming hardware. If you’re a fan of all things Barbie and gaming, you will love this.
The Barbie Dreamhouse console and controllers are a unique take on the typically minimalist Xbox aesthetic. Rather than blend into the crowd, this set is a bright fuschia Xbox Series S with Barbie The Movie branding, housed in a three-tier baby pink Barbie Dreamhouse.
This Dreamhouse is no ordinary dollhouse, either. It features miniature loungers, a glittery bed, and even a pool with rubber rings and the classic Barbie “B” symbol. The overall design of the console and Dreamhouse is delightfully garish and eye-catching; I’d say this is the perfect console for expressing your inner Barbie girl in an Xbox world.
The giveaway includes a bright fuschia Xbox Series S with Barbie The Movie branding, housed in a three-tier baby pink Barbie Dreamhouse. The Dreamhouse features miniature loungers, a glittery bed, and even a pool with rubber rings and the classic Barbie “B” symbol.
In addition to the console, there are interchangeable controller faceplates for the SCUF Instinct pad inspired by Barbie and Ken’s outfits. All four faceplates are stamped with the movie’s logo, with two vibrant psychedelic patterns for Barbie and two more toned-down black and white patterns for Ken.
This collaboration also marks the first time Xbox has released a pad with interchangeable faceplates, for those who want to show off their love for all things Barbie even while off the game. The presence of pink peripherals and hardware has long been a way for many gamers, including myself, to express themselves in their hobby, so this is a nostalgic nod to what many young girls would have loved to see when they were growing up.
