WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler's Warhammer Passion
A WWE superstar is embracing her nerdy side in a whole new way, and Warhammer fans everywhere are celebrating. Shayna Baszler's shocking face turn at Money in the Bank was a major highlight of the night, but her ring gear teases an even more exciting development. Baszler's long-time alliance with Ronda Rousey is on the rocks, but her ring attire hints at an upcoming heel turn and a new set of Warhammer-themed gear.
The O2 Arena was filled to the brim with a unique British crowd, adding an extra layer of spectacle to the pay-per-view. Baszler's face turn was one of the biggest moments of the night, and her ring gear played a big role in the shocking development.
While Baszler's allegiance to the Black Wall was well documented, her recent gear was inspired by the Luna Wolves, the Emperor's 16th legion of Space Marines. This was seen as just a fandom reference at the time, but it turns out that Baszler is a true Warhammer nerd, and her specific brand of nerdery centers around the iconic tabletop game.
"I'm a nerd," Baszler tells the UK-based 'Beyond the Ring' show. "I'm a self-proclaimed nerd. There's different levels of nerdery, right? And I'm a supreme nerd. In terms of specific nerdery, I would say I'm a Warhammer nerd."
As Baszler explains, her last trip to the UK was all about Warhammer, as she visited Warhammer World and immersed herself in the Warhammer universe. Fans are already eagerly waiting to see what kind of Warhammer-themed gear Baszler will wear now that she's seemingly joined the Black Legion.
Baszler has worn specific Warhammer references in her ring gear before, such as a Custodian helmet and an Imperial Guard icon, but her recent gear was a much bigger commitment. We just didn't realize at the time that it was all part of her dedication to the hobby.
"I wouldn't say I'm obsessed, but I'm definitely a Warhammer nerd," Baszler continues. "So I have a Warhammer Legion, it's called the Black Legion, and I have all of the armor, and I have my banner. I'm already working on my next armor set."
With Baszler's specific brand of nerdery now out in the open, we just have to wait to see her Black Legion gear. In the meantime, her feud with Ronda Rousey is only intensifying, and fans are already speculating what kind of gear Baszler will wear as the two friends become bitter rivals.
