Valve releases new Left 4 Dead 2 update, hints at potential sequel

A new Left 4 Dead 2 Update is out, with Valve offering up some fixes and changes to the classic zombie game based on community feedback. Following the update, the developer also teases a potential Left 4 Dead 3, so keep reading to find out more.

The Left 4 Dead 2 update is full of fixes and changes, with Valve making improvements to bugs, making collision fixes, and making adjustments based on community feedback.

“We’ve been keeping an eye on your feedback over the past few months and have been working on a few improvements to the campaigns and Versus modes,” Valve writes. “We’ve made tweaks to some areas and completely revamped others.”

The game’s maps have been tweaked and improved, with specific changes made to areas and scenarios. In the patch notes, Valve also includes a few humorous comments, naming a swamp gator “Fred” by popular request, and making a joke about a “missing goat” in The Last Stand.

There are also some more serious balancing adjustments made to certain areas of the game, including the finale of The Last Stand. The Tank Run mode has also received minor tweaks and fixes.

In addition to the main game, fixes and changes have been implemented for L4D1 Co-op, Survival, and Versus modes. Valve says it’s listening to community feedback and implementing changes based on this feedback.

The community certainly seems happy with the update, while also voicing their desire for Left 4 Dead 3. Despite the enthusiasm, however, the likelihood of a Left 4 Dead 3 release remains uncertain, with Valve’s Gabe Newell saying “the chances are going to be low” back in March.

Nevertheless, fans continue to enjoy and play Left 4 Dead 2, and we’ll bring you more updates on the ongoing support for the game as we find out more.
