The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom takes players back to the hot and dusty Gerudo Desert in Breath of the Wild. There’s a challenging puzzle to solve and a treasure to find, but you’ll need to be at a high point in the main story and have unlocked the right areas.

The Treasure of Gerudo Desert

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom treasure is called the Treasure of Gerudo Desert. It requires you to return to Gerudo Town and the Sage Riju, who awakens as part of the main story. Speak to her after this point, and she’ll give you the riddle to solve: “Seek out the swordswoman upon the sand and look to where she points.”

This riddle is the puzzle to solve the Treasure of Gerudo Desert in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, it’s not immediately clear what the solution is or where to go. Thankfully, there’s a fairly obvious clue in the form of a statue that points somewhere. All the other statues in the Gerudo Desert follow the same rule, so you can use this to solve the riddle and find the treasure.

The solution is to follow the statues in the Gerudo Desert, which all point to the same destination. Using Hero’s Path mode or Travel Medallions if you’re concerned about getting lost can help you track your progress.

In any case, the journey leads to the far north-western edge of the Gerudo Desert, below the Gerudo highlands. Along the way, you’ll encounter enemy camps and mini-boss areas like Moldugas, but there’s nothing too challenging.

Eventually, you’ll reach the small hole with breakable rocks that leads to the West Gerudo Underground Ruins. The entrance coordinates are -4672,-1980,0024.

Inside, you’ll navigate a room filled with breakable rocks. You’ll need to use Riju’s lightning, which she’ll use to blow up the rocks, and Yunobo’s charge, which he’ll use to break the rocks.

The central chamber contains a chest with the Vah Naboris Divine Helm, offering shock resistance. It looks a bit like the Calamity Mask from Breath of the Wild, though it doesn’t have the same lightning-proof qualities as Riju’s helmet. Nevertheless, it has a great appearance, and you can equip it right away.

The Treasure of Gerudo Desert and Other Tears of the Kingdom Quests

The Treasure of Gerudo Desert quest is one of the main Tears of the Kingdom quests, though there are many others to complete while you’re in Gerudo Desert. In fact, the treasure itself is part of another quest, Liberation of Gerudo Town.

If you’re looking for something to do while you’re in the desert, we highly recommend liberating Gerudo Town and awakening Sage Riju. This is part of the Liberation of Gerudo Town quest, which is itself part of the Tears of the Kingdom quests.
