Wondering how to do The Soldier Statuette side quest in The Witcher 3? This odd request comes from Zoltan, who wants Geralt to help him raid Caesar Bilzen’s secret room. There, you discover a mysterious statuette hidden in a box, and it turns out to be a very special present for somebody close to the Witcher.
Inside the room at Skellige’s Kaer Morhen, you also discover plenty of other valuable items, which likely belong to Caesar and his wealthy guests at the Lodge. Nevertheless, this statuette is found on the south side of the room and should mark out “The Soldier Statuette” side quest in The Witcher 3. Of course, knowing CD Projekt Red, you’ll also find a journal entry related to this aspect quest in the Griffin Tavern afterwards.
Latest The Witcher 3 side quest
To be clear, The Soldier Statuette quest is just one of many side quests in The Witcher 3, and you have to have progressed to the main story quest “A Dangerous Game” in the game. The quest “Now Or Never” marks the point at which Triss will leave Novigrad, and the quest “Blindingly Obvious” marks the point at which she will return.
You can, however, still talk to Triss about her leaving for good until this point, and this even unlocks a “Now Or Never” side quest in which you attempt to stop her from leaving forever. Once you complete this quest, though, Triss will leave Novigrad and never return – unless you have already done the side quest “Blindingly Obvious” to have her come back.
How to undo the Soldier Statuette’s enchantment
Triss, as you might expect, undoes the enchantment on the statuette, revealing the original form of a Nilfgaardian Soldier who fought at the Battle of Sodden Hill. You’ll want to conduct this side quest before the quest “Blindingly Obvious”, because after that point, Triss will leave Kaer Morhen forever.
However, with Triss by your side, you’ll be able to talk to the Soldier and learn about his memories.
Afterwards, you can direct the Nilfgaardian Soldier to the Nilfgaardian Embassy in Novigrad, thereby finishing the quest.
Unfortunately, if you fail The Soldier Statuette quest, you’re going to have to reload an old save to experience the quest, as the quest’s cutoff point is during the quest “Final Preparations” in The Witcher 3 when Ciri talks to the Lodge. If you choose not to go through this quest, you’ll continue with the main story.
That’s how to do The Soldier Statuette in The Witcher 3. For more side quests, though, check out our list of every available Witcher contract in the main game. We also suggest you get all the clues regarding The Whisperer mystery quest in order to proceed.
