Are Capcom’s characters actually attractive?

We ask this question in the light of a recent discussion about the sexualisation of Resident Evil’s Leon Kennedy, with some expressing their clear preference for him, while others find it odd that anyone could think he’s hot.

Capcom’s protagonists are consistently attractive, even to straight players,” a user says. “Characters like Leon and Chris Redfield are considered attractive by many.” Some users go on to joke about Leon’s attractiveness, referencing a popular meme.

Others bring up Dante from Devil May Cry, expressing their preference for him over Leon. “I like the older Dante design better,” one user says, “even though the newer Dante is more attractive.” Another user argues that Chris Redfield is even more attractive, which leads to a discussion about Resident Evil 4 and its release date.

With that out of the way, we dive into the real meat of the discussion – the attractive characters. “I think Pukei-Pukei from Monster Hunter is attractive,” one user says. “I mean, I don’t like them as a character, but they’re cute.”

“Namielle is attractive due to its wet appearance,” another says. “I mean, I’m not attracted to it, but I get the appeal.”

“Resident Evil and Street Fighter have a lot of cute female characters,” a user says. “I think Chun-Li and Cammy are cute, but I haven’t played either game.” Other users mention Laura as an attractive female character, which Vega agrees with.

“The camera often focuses on the characters’ bodies and clothing choices,” a user points out. “It’s a bit weird,” another replies. This leads to a discussion about other games with attractive female characters, including Tekken, where a video featuring Vergil is shared.

“I’m surprised there’s not a porn animation of Vergil yet,” one user says. “Well, there is one,” another replies. “But it’s not very good.” Before long, the conversation devolves into a debate about the size of Tifa’s breasts in the aforementioned animation. “The hell?” one user asks.

“You’re not straight if you say things like that,” another replies. “You can appreciate attractiveness without being attracted to the person.” “You’re so obsessed with boobs,” another user says, accusing the first of being obsessed with the woman’s body in general.

“This is a really weird thread,” another user replies. “I don’t know why we’re talking about this.” “If you’re not straight, then you’re gay,” another says. “Definitely,” yet another replies. “No, I don’t think you are,” the original poster replies. “I just think you’re wrong.”

“So if I find the characters attractive, I must be attracted to them?” the original poster asks. “I think that’s what most people here are saying,” another replies.
