GTA 6
GTA 6 was announced in February 2022, but we’ve heard little since then. While we wait for Rockstar Games to drop its next Grand Theft Auto update, we’ve seen Red Dead Redemption 2 take over Rockstar’s social media accounts, and we’ve even been teased with a new game called The Lost City of Los Angeles. The fans are desperate, and so one fan took an unconventional approach to find information about GTA 6 – by interrupting a German TV show.
The fan, dressed in a black hoodie, walked onto the set of Doppelpass, a show about the Bundesliga football league, and asked for “insider info” about GTA 6.
“Excuse me, excuse me, I have a question for you,” the fan says in German. “What can you tell us about the next GTA game?” He holds up a GTA 6 shirt as evidence of his fandom.
He’s met with some bemusement from the hosts and audience, and then a bystander approaches with a plastic bottle and pours its entire contents on the fan, who flees the scene. It’s a dramatic video that has gone viral on social media. But this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this.
Earlier this year, he interrupted another TV show, Die Höhle der Löwen (The Lion’s Den), which is a German business reality TV show that features investors who fund entrepreneurs and their ideas. The fan again asked about GTA 6, and the show’s hosts responded by throwing milkshakes at him.
While the fan’s enthusiasm is admirable, and his dedication to finding out about the next GTA game is admirable, his approach may not have been the most effective.
The GTA 6 news drought is nothing new – it’s been years since GTA 5 was released in 2013 – and the wait for a proper sequel to Rockstar’s best game of that decade is starting to feel like it’s never going to end.
Instead, Rockstar has focused on the live-service aspect of GTA 5 and has released other games, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, which has arguably been more successful than GTA 6. But the studio has also pulled its hand from the single-player pot, with a future GTA game seemingly headed to the cloud.
If you’re desperate for information, interrupting TV shows isn’t the answer. The GTA 6 still doesn’t have a release date, so these pleas are unlikely to yield any results.
That said, GTA 6 is an enormous game with a lot of hype and anticipation surrounding it. If you’re desperate for any updates, we’ve got them, although they’re few and far between.
