The best Outlast Trials NPCs are:

These are the best characters we’ve met in the Outlast Trials:

Barlow

Barlow is a nurse with a professional demeanor who you meet at the pharmacy desk in the Sinyala Facility. She is highly educated and speaks perfect English with a slight accent that hints at origins outside of North America.

Barlow’s Stats

Speaks English perfectly

Has an outstanding professional skill

Wernicke

Speaks English perfectly

Wernicke is a key researcher in the Murkoff Corporation. You meet him as a reflection in the glass at the back of the Sleep Room where he constantly observes Reagents. He looks into the Reagents’ bloodbath and sometimes sees the psychosis vision.

The doctor’s dialogue changes if you’re carrying a Reagent. If he’s able to see one, he’ll inevitably ask if you’re aware of your actions and whether you’re performing your official duties. If you don’t like and trust the doctor, he could even push you closer to the Skinner.

Dorris

Speaks English very well

Dorris is a former Reagent with knowledge of the Sinyala Facility and the Murkoff Corporation. She now works in the Sleep Room and serves as your merchant, where you can buy and upgrade rigs. She also provides some history, background, and potential secrets about the Murkoff Corporation and what goes on in their test facilities.

The Skinner Man

We actually hear and see nothing of this enigmatic antagonist, who manipulates and drives the Reagents to commit murderous acts. However, when the protagonist experiences Psychosis, it’s often accompanied by a conversation between the Skinner and one of his prey.

Dr. Easterman

Although you don’t have much direct contact with Dr. Easterman, we become suspicious of him fairly early on. He’s introduced in the Prologue as the Murkoff Corporation’s new director of Project LATHE – a program that allows the company to dominate the globe through mind control.

Noakes

Noakes is a kidnapped engineer who sells and upgrades rigs in the Sinyala Facility. Before becoming a Murkoff employee, he lived a quiet life with his three cats until he was brutally abducted. Noakes wanted to avoid confrontation and serve his purpose quietly, but his good nature and kindness made him a friend to The Outlast Trials’ protagonist.

Mother Gooseberry

Mother Gooseberry is a murderer driven to commit violent acts through thoughts implanted by her hand puppet, Dr. Futterman. Her twisted personality is clearly seen in her little pharmacy, where she gives healing, salts, and tape, but only to those with enough strength and the potential to become brutal killers like her.

Coyle

Coyle, a former Marine and police officer, is a hotheaded individual who is determined to bring the Murkoff Corporation to justice, whatever the consequences may be. A man of the law, Coyle is visibly angry and disgusted by the various experiments carried out inside Murkoff, and he’ll even draw his gun if you try to deceive him.
