The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in Hateno Village
After being torn from Calamity Ganon, Link and Zelda find themselves in Hateno Village. Their home's mayor is facing an unusual challenge, leading to a series of side quests and adventures for the player to explore.
Hateno Village is known for its charming villagers and intricate stories. The village is home to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's version of Moblins, called Rito, but now the rambunctious Mabu control their clothes and infrastructure. A mayoral race takes place, and you can get involved by speaking with Cece at the clothing shop.

While exploring Hateno Village, you'll come across several side quests aside from the mayoral race. Some quests can be picked up at the entrance to the village, while others are unique to certain NPCs.
Mushroom Mayoral Race Quests
One of the quest lines in the Mushroom Mayor race involves Reede's desire to start a cooking festival, Cece's plan for a Mabu-free Hateno, and Douglas' ambition to use slime taxes to build a library. To complete the mayoral race, you need to speak with Reede and Cece before heading to the mayor's office. Each quest requires convincing the other contenders to give up by obtaining different ingredients. Once all the quests are finished, you'll become the mayor of Hateno Village for a short time.
Hateno Ancient Tech Lab Quests
In the Ancient Tech Lab, run by Robbie, you can complete various quests to aid Bayonetta's companion, Zelda. Robbie has repurposed the lab into a base and holds Zelda as a test subject. Completing these quests will lead to the best upgrades and help you complete your compendium in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
