The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Are you looking for answers to all of the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom mysteries? With the introduction of so many new characters and locations to the series, there’s plenty to keep us theorising. From the absence of the character Kass to the disappearance of the Divine Beasts and Sheikah technology, Tears of the Kingdom leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

In our Zelda Tears of the Kingdom review, we explored the game’s story and characters, including the origins of the Zonai, a mysterious ancient tribe, and their connection to the Barbarian Armor set. We also examined the identity and fate of the Zonai, only to be left with more questions. In this Zelda Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough, we’ll attempt to shed some light on this ancient tribe and the many other mysteries in Hyrule.

The Ancient Hero’s Aspect

Once you’ve completed the game’s 152 Shrines, you’ll be rewarded with the Ancient Hero’s Aspect. This accessory represents an ancient hero who defeated Calamity Ganon, and is given to Link by the Last Spirit. The Last Spirit also gives Link the title of ‘Guardian of the Kingdom’, which he was apparently destined to have by the Goddess Hylia Statue.

Upon wearing this Aspect, you’ll notice a change in the series’ familiar Triforce symbol. There are now three triangles, representing the three labyrinths in Hyrule that are connected to the sky and the Depths.

The sky temples are home to many mysterious voices, claiming to be the rulers of owls, boars, and dragons. There are also many puzzles and contraptions, such as the Medallion Compass, that have been left behind by the ancient hero.

The dragons Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh return in Tears of the Kingdom, but their origins and connection to the Zonai remain a mystery. The only clue we have is the Barbarian Armor set, which is made up of Zonai armour. With this in mind, we’d suggest that the Barbarian Armor was indeed forged by these ancient people.

Draconification

The game also introduces the concept of draconification, where someone can become an immortal dragon. This process is discovered in the Sky Keep, where Calamity Ganon’s mortal remains are kept. There are many Sheikah technology devices stationed here, including the Immortalator, which can apparently make someone immortal.

The Depths

The Depths, a pitch-black underground area filled with water, is home to many Bargainer Statues. These statues trade poes for items and clothing, and offer many rewards for their services. There are many disturbing things about these statues, including the fact that they can apparently communicate through the Goddess Hylia Statue.

What’s even weirder is the fact that you can find a Bargainer Statue that can trade for the Ancient Hero’s Aspect. This statue says it has been watching Link since he was a child, and even knows about Kass. Could the Bargainer Statues have played a role in Kass’s fate? Or could they have been responsible for the disappearance of the Divine Beasts?

And that’s everything we’ve discovered in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It’s safe to say that the sequel has left us with a lot of mysteries to ponder. Thankfully, we’ve also got a list of the best PC games available to keep you busy until the next Zelda game arrives.
