The Lightning Temple, discovered while assisting Riju and Gerudo Town, poses a significant challenge for players. However, fear not! We are here to provide you with helpful tips to conquer the temple's toughest puzzles and boss battles.
The Zelda series has always been known for its intricate temples, and Breath of the Wild is no exception. Among them, Tears of the Kingdom's Lightning Temple stands out as one of the most difficult yet rewarding to overcome. As expected, this temple revolves around the clever use of light and lightning to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
Lightning Temple Tips
To reach the Lightning Temple, aid Riju and the Gerudo in defeating the Yiga Clan members who are causing trouble in the town. Following the cutscene at the East Gate, step on the button to reveal a slope leading down to the basement. Cross the two bridges and move the rocks to uncover a chest containing a Gerudo Greatsword.
Advance forward and step on the button to deactivate the flames, allowing Riju to join your party. Navigate past the rolling ball of fire, enduring some damage but disabling the trap. Drop down into the pit, defeat the Gibdo Hive, and climb up to the next floor.
In the Room of Hopeful Light, engage in combat with a Captain Construct, clear the sand away, and activate the mirror. Utilize the Ultrahand to redirect the beam of light towards the locked door, unlocking it.
Proceed through the door to reach the first floor of the temple. Activate the Zonai Pedestal to reveal the primary puzzle of powering the elevator using four batteries:
Return to the central room and ascend the stairs to Lightning Temple 3F. Traverse through the passageway illuminated by flames. Employ your Flame Emitter Spear to vanquish the Construct, revealing a rotating wheel. Manipulate the wheels to open the gate.
Descend into the room below and destroy another Gibdo Hive. Clear away the sand to unveil another Mirror and Receptor. Use the Mirror to activate the receptor, thus opening the gate.
Blow away additional sand and navigate past the smashing walls of spikes. Defeat the Gibdo Hive to expose a rotating wheel controlling the gate. Utilize Riju's lightning to rotate the wheel and disable the traps.
Descend to the room below and ascend the stairs to the fifth floor. This chamber features a pillar of light and various Mirrors. Arrange the Mirrors and statues strategically to reflect the beam of light towards a receptor on the second floor.
Descend the stairs to the fourth floor and enter the passageway with another pillar of light and Mirrors. Arrange the Mirrors and statues accordingly to reflect the beam of light towards a receptor on the second floor.
Within the passage, you will find an unblocked button. Step on it to clear the passage and defeat the enemies in the next room. Utilize a Balloon, Mirror, and a lit torch to refract the light from below towards a receptor.
Ascend to the next room and glide down a vertical tunnel engulfed in flames. Step on the button to allow Riju to join you. Defeat the Constructs and activate the final battery.
Return to the central room and activate the Zonai Pedestal to confront the temple's boss: the Hela Thunderbird.
