Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
The third and final installment of the Spider-Verse trilogy is just around the corner, and there is exciting news about what is to come in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The producers, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, have answered some fan questions on Twitter, revealing more about the role of Gwen Stacy in the upcoming Miles Morales film.
The film concludes the Spider-Verse series, which began with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2022 and continued in Spider-Woman: Fearless in 2023. It is set to arrive in theaters on March 29, 2024.
Lord mentioned that they are currently completing the film's editing and heading to the sound mix stage. He expressed their anticipation for the March 29 release date.
Continuing from where its predecessor left off, Spider-Man: Beyond will feature Miles Morales potentially trapped in the wrong universe, while a team led by the Gwen Stacy version of Spider-Woman attempts to rescue him. Lord and Miller also indicated that the reality-bending villain, The Spot, introduced in the previous film, will make a few more appearances.
Although Lord and Miller did not disclose specific plot details or new characters, they did reveal their excitement about one particular Multiversal Variant of Gwen. Miller confirmed that there will be more than one multiversal Gwen, suggesting a unique twist for this beloved character.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has already generated significant anticipation, with the Earth-42 Morales reveal. However, fans are especially interested in Gwen Stacy's role in the movie, following her increased involvement in Spider-Woman: Fearless. It is uncertain how Gwen's variants will differ from the familiar version we know. There may even be a villainous Spider-Gwen in one of the universes, but we will have to wait until the movie's release to find out for sure.
