Their purpose is to summon a goddess back to the Spring in the Forest. Throughout your journey, you will have regular check-ins with the Nature Sprites and the goddess to track your progress in unlocking all the Wonders.
The Nature Sprites keep track of the Wonders you have collected and notify you each time you unlock a new one. These Wonders can range from making friends to making a lot of gold. The Nature Sprites often discuss Wonders and their search for "wonderful things" to please the goddess.

The Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life Wonder log is a comprehensive list of all the wonders you have unlocked in the game, along with the tasks or activities required to unlock them. It serves as a handy reference for your progress.
Throughout the game, there are cutscenes that show the Nature Sprites interacting with various things and people in Forgotten Valley. Interestingly, the townsfolk cannot see them, except for a few characters like Nina and Vinnie, who seem to be able to catch glimpses of the Nature Sprites on occasion.
When you successfully unlock a Wonder, you will receive a note in your Deposit Box. This note contains the name of the Wonder, how you unlocked it, and the total number of Wonders unlocked so far. Additionally, you can also check your Wonders in the Farm Info tab of your menu.
It is worth noting that the Wonders can be unlocked in any order, so there may be gaps in the "Wonders Collected" log. In total, there are 88 Wonders to collect in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.
