If you're looking for the WoW Obsidian Gemstone
You've likely picked up the Warmth and Comfort quest in order to raise new dragon hatchlings. One of the first steps is finding the item list, and you've no doubt picked up the supplies needed to build a nest. One item on the list though is a bit more tricky to find, the Obsidian Gemstone.
Dragonflight is one of the biggest content patches in recent years, and there are a variety of new activities to check out now that the WoW 10.1.5 update has arrived. One of the more cute and adorable additions is the new class of dragon you can raise in WoW Dragonflight, and they need some help to get off the ground – or rather out of the nest. If you're looking to complete Warmth and Comfort in WoW Dragonflight, then you'll likely have already picked this up from Valdrakken in the Obsidian Citadel. Where to find the WoW Obsidian Gemstone
The WoW Obsidian Gemstone is one of the items on the list for new whelplings. The other two are fairly straightforward to find, but this one is a little trickier.
The NPC you're looking for is called Archivist Edress. You get the WoW Obsidian Gemstone from them, but there's a problem – if you're starting this quest in The Waking Shores, none of the NPCs will be there. There's a section of the zone that you're not meant to access until a later point in the Wrathion vs Sabellian quest line, and none of the NPCs will appear until you unlock that part of the area.
If you've not unlocked this part of the area though, you're going to run into difficulty as none of the NPCs will be there. You'll know you're in the right place because Valdrakken will tell you that you need to find Edress, but he won't be there.
If this happens, talk to Kalendormu, the large bronze dragon that you find there instead. He'll give you the option of skipping ahead and unlocking the Obsidian Citadel, which will make Archivist Edress appear.
Once you've gotten to Edress, you'll get the Obsidian Gemstone and be one step closer to building a nest for your whelpling. Don't forget though that you need two more items: the Dreamcatcher and the Dragonnest.
Now you know where to find the WoW Obsidian Gemstone, it's time to get out there and explore all the new content in Dragonflight. If you're looking for something else to do, the new Time Rifts allow you to earn currency for cosmetics, you can get a free flying mount as part of the improvements made to learning the Riding Skill, and if you're a warlock you can now customize your pets at the barber shop too.
