Radeon RX 6750 GRE: An Upcoming Contender
A new AMD graphics card is on the way, and it’s likely to be a response to the recent RTX 4060 launch. The Radeon RX 6750 GRE reportedly boasts performance similar to the more expensive RTX 4060 Ti, and it could be priced at $299. That would put it directly in the Nvidia card’s path, but it would also help fill a gap in the red team’s GPU lineup.
We’ve already seen AMD respond to the RTX 4060 with a price cut for the current Radeon RX 6750 XT. The upcoming 6750 GRE (GPU replacement) card could take things a step further by using an upgraded GPU and more VRAM.
We don’t have any official specs just yet, but it looks like the 6750 GRE will be a Navi 21 silicon (used in the higher-end RX 6800 and 6900 XT) refresh. That means it’ll boast a wider 256-bit memory bus and 16GB of VRAM, which is a significant step up compared to the 192-bit bus and 12GB on the 6750 XT.
The availability of this card remains a mystery for now, as the previous 7900 GRE never received a standalone release. All things considered, it’ll be interesting to see if AMD decides to pull the trigger and put the new GPU inside its usual reference design.
The release of the 6750 GRE would effectively fill a gap between the RX 7600 and the upcoming RX 7700 XT. If priced and specced correctly, it could be an extremely tempting option in the graphics market.
A card with slightly better performance than the 6750 XT and ample VRAM for $299 would be a good deal. It’d almost certainly outperform the RTX 4060 in terms of raster performance, and it’d give you more room to run higher quality settings compared to the 4060.
We’ll hopefully learn more about the 6750 GRE in the near future, so stay tuned.
