The upcoming Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards

The wait for the next-generation Radeon RX 7000 Graphics Cards is almost over, with AMD teasing the incoming graphics boards ahead of their official announcement. The company aims to fill the gap in its product lineup by offering mainstream options with good gaming performance at an affordable price, with the announcement expected to be made at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

“Join us at Gamescom for major product announcements and exciting news about the future of PC gaming,” says AMD’s senior vice president and general manager of the graphics business unit, Scott Herkelman. “We’ll share more information about the latest innovations in graphics and gaming technology that are helping to improve the experience for gamers around the world.”

Herkelman’s invitation is accompanied by a video that shows a countdown timer and the word ‘launch,’ further suggesting that we’ll be hearing more about the upcoming Radeon RX 7000 series at the event. In addition to this, AMD’s gaming solutions chief, Frank Azor, also promises exciting news during the event.

We’ve been waiting for new AMD graphics cards for quite some time, with the company releasing high-end options such as the Radeon RX 6400 XT and budget-friendly models like the Radeon 7600 GT. There’s still no sign of the anticipated Navi 32 GPU and the Radeon RX 7700 and 7800-series boards, however, with the delay seemingly down to the existing inventory of the RX 6800/6900 GPUs.

Although the new models are likely to be more expensive, it’ll be worth it if they perform on par with their older siblings. This isn’t necessarily the case, however, with AMD’s CEO already stating that new models for gamers will be released this quarter.

Given Gamescom’s large attendance and global recognition, the event is naturally the perfect platform for the product reveal. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on anything further that arrives ahead of the show.

In the meantime, here’s everything we know about the upcoming Radeon RX 7700 and 7800 graphics cards.
