Invincible Presents: Atom Eve - A Visual Novel RPG

A visual novel RPG where you can step into the spandex of Atom Eve and fight crime alongside her boyfriend, Nolan, is coming, and creator Robert Kirkman himself says it’s “so good,” as we await the first trailer for the game. Developed by Terrible Posture Games, known for The Walking Dead: Last Mile and featuring character art by Marvel and Riot Games veteran Rossi Gifford, we’ve seen very little of what’s to come from Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, but that’s about to change.

“We’re so excited for this project,” Kirkman says in the video, which you can see just below. “It’s incredibly faithful to the comic’s artwork and style. It’s a very cool game and I hope people enjoy it.”

Developed in collaboration with Kirkman himself, and featuring a story based on the comic book series, it looks like we’ll get to experience Atom Eve’s story at school and as a superhero, fighting against the crime wave in her hometown, Alton Bay. As an RPG, it’ll feature turn-based combat, with moves that use up energy, and branching paths and dialogue choices that will shape how the story unfolds.

“You’re not just doing combat in a fighting game,” creative director Jill Murray explains, “you’re doing it in a way that uses your energy, uses your resources, and will get you into trouble if you’re not careful.” Whether that means fighting in parking lots and other locations will change based on your actions, or whether you’ll simply need to use up more energy is unclear, but it certainly sounds like it’ll be important.

Alongside Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, Ubisoft is also developing Guarding the Globe, a mobile exclusive idle squad-based RPG, where you’ll build a team of Invincible characters to fight crime with. Omni-Man, another character from Invincible, is also set to feature in Mortal Kombat 1, where he’ll offer some brutal fatalities alongside another famous MK guest.

In the meantime, you can wishlist the game on Steam, and check out everything else coming to PC in 2023.
