Baldur's Gate 3: A Massive RPG Experience

Baldur’s Gate 3 is shaping up to be an absolutely massive RPG, with Larian Studios already touting just how long it will be to play through the upcoming game. With over 17,000 different ending variations in the game, the length is already being called ‘unbelievable,’ but the number of choices players can make throughout the RPG also plays a big part.

As we count down to the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date, we’re already learning more about the game, including the fact that there are more than 17,000 possible endings. Larian’s already spoken about how long the game is, with over 174 hours of cinematics, twice the length of the entire Game of Thrones series, and now we have even more scope.

Baldur’s Gate 3 writer Chrystal Ding spent six months crafting the game’s endings, and has revealed there are 17,000 different variations for players to experience.

“I did not come up with 17,000 endings, but I did come up with 17,000 variations,” Ding explains. “There are a lot that are minor differences, but there are also a significant number of major ending differences.

“To be honest, I’m not sure precisely how many major ending differences there are. I suspect we’ll be finding out exactly how many major ending differences there are on launch day.”

Larian’s director of publishing Michael Douse has since confirmed Ding’s number, which you can see below:

With 17,000 endings available and the game already boasting an almost unfathomable length with over 174 hours of cinematics, Baldur’s Gate 3 is already set to be one of the biggest games of the year, and probably one of the biggest PC games of all time.

With so many games releasing in the next two months, it’s likely you’ll find yourself struggling to experience even one of these endings, but with so much effort going into ensuring you never get the exact same ending twice, I doubt it’ll be a problem.

Check out everything we know about the upcoming RPG, and get ready to embark on an adventure filled with countless possibilities when Baldur’s Gate 3 finally launches out of Early Access on August 3, with the PlayStation version coming on September 6.
