How to start the Help The Hag Survivors quest
The quest Help The Hag Survivors and its related quests start after you find a Hag Survivor pamphlet in a house on the southeast side of the Lower City. Head to the house, go inside, and speak to the trio inside. Pass a Persuasion or Intimidation check to assure them you’re not aligned with the hags. If attacked, defeat Jatlo to turn the other combatants in the room to your side.
Speak with Mayrina, exhaust her dialogue, and accept the quest. Loot the safe in the wall behind her to find the recipe and materials for Hag’s Bane. Concoct the potion before venturing further.
How to follow Vanra’s quest
To follow Vanra’s quest line, you need to go to the Basilisk Gate Barracks. Enter the building, follow the hallway to the left, and speak with Lora. Listen to her tale, learn about Auntie Ethel and Vanra’s last known location.
How to find Auntie Ethel
Auntie Ethel’s lair is hidden beneath the Blushing Mermaid, near the center of the Lower City. Speak with Captain Grisly in the sitting room of the Blushing Mermaid to reveal Auntie Ethel.
Defeat the redcaps summoned by Auntie Ethel and chase her into the basement. Navigate the traps and disarm them to reach her lair. Be sure to concoct Hag’s Bane before entering the lower level of her lair.
How to beat Auntie Ethel
Choose to fight or save the victims of Ethel’s Masks of Servitude before facing off against Auntie Ethel. In the first room, you can choose to spare the victims or kill them. In the second room, the choice is made for you, but you can avoid fighting the boss if you so choose.
Deal with Auntie Ethel and free Vanra using Hag’s Bane. Finish Auntie Ethel in battle and defeat any remaining enemies. Loot Auntie Ethel’s corpse for valuable crafting materials and potions.
