Baldur’s Gate 3 has been met with positive reactions from users, with many expressing their satisfaction with the RPG game. However, with a few exceptions, the thread is mostly lighthearted and positive, with one user even sharing a funny anecdote about how they were let off the hook by NPCs in the game and even started throwing fireballs at them.

“I’m about 20 hours in and it’s everything I wanted. Almost nothing is wrong with it,” one user writes. “The story is great, the characters are great, and the gameplay is great. What’s not great is the Steam overlay, which freezes every time I try to use it.”

Another user asks if Baldur’s Gate 3 is “suitable for non-hardcore RPG fans,” to which multiple users assure that it’s a great game to try regardless of how much you know about the Forgotten Realms setting, or even the original games.

“I am a casual-ish RPG player and have never played any of the Baldur’s Gate games,” one user writes. “I bought this game because it is on sale and I wanted to give it a try. I am about 15 hours in and I am really loving it. I am really impressed with the writing, the humour, and the combat,” they continue.

“I am about halfway through and really enjoying the game,” another user writes. “Is it an extremely hardcore RPG game? No, not really. Is it extremely casual and easy? Not really. Is it a great game for anyone to play? Absolutely yes.”

As people play more of the game, they begin to encounter some bugs and also discuss the difficulty of pickpocketing in Baldur’s Gate 3. “I’m currently on the quest where you have to infiltrate a goblin camp by dressing as a goblin,” one user writes. “I thought this would be easy as I just pickpocketed a goblin and stole his clothes,” they continue, referencing a dialogue line.

“I’ve been trying for 20 minutes to pickpocket that goblin and he just won’t take his pants off,” another user responds. “I’ve gotten the pickpocket prompt, but it doesn’t work,” they continue, prompting a few more replies from other users who are also having the same issue.

Some users also discuss the bugs they’ve encountered in the game, while others go into detail about the large number of possible endings Baldur’s Gate 3 has. “There are so many bugs and glitches, I’m pretty sure I’m just going to lose my head in this game,” another user writes, referencing a line in the game’s dialogue.

“The developers are definitely aware of the pickpocketing issue,” a comment from a bot moderator stating that a post has been removed sparks a humorous response from users. “They’re removing posts about the pickpocketing issue? Is it because it’s a serious issue and they don’t want to draw attention to it?” one user writes, to which another responds, “Or maybe they’re afraid we’ll all realise that our inventory has been filled with actual goblin genitals, and that we’re just wearing them now.”

A few users also engage in a lighthearted debate about grammar and manners, while one user mentions their curiosity about how a character in the game will wear a hat. “I want to know how that dang hat is staying on [the] Abdullahan’s head,” they write.
