Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Adds D&D Hexblade Subclass

A popular Baldur’s Gate 3 mod enhances the game by introducing the Hexblade subclass from D&D 5e. This addition includes the key Warlock abilities, such as 'blade' cantrips. It offers an exciting change for players who enjoy a spellblade playstyle, enabling the use of Wyll as the Blade of Frontiers.

Hexblade is a well-liked subclass in Dungeons & Dragons that combines martial abilities with spellcasting. Although it may not be a perfect fit for Baldur’s Gate 3, modder Feriat111 has skillfully implemented it into the game.

Mods for Hexblade Subclass and New Invocations

The first mod, 'Hexblade Subclass and New Invocations', incorporates the Hexblade subclass and some of its key abilities:

  • 'blade' cantrips

A second mod, '5e Spells', introduces essential cantrips for spellblades. While there are additional recommended options, the following two are particularly noteworthy:

  • Booming Blade: Deals extra force damage if the target moves, making it effective against spellcasters or mobile enemies.
  • Green-Flame Blade: Inflicts additional fire damage to another enemy, making it suitable for encounters with multiple foes.

These cantrips benefit various spellblade classes, but Arcane Tricksters, in particular, will be thrilled to finally have access to them. Additionally, they provide extra power at lower levels, which is significant for characters who typically do not gain many extra attacks until higher levels.
