Baldur's Gate 3 will receive an update
Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive its second patch relatively soon, adding character epilogues for origin characters alongside major performance improvements for the RPG game’s Act 3, and more.
In the upcoming 2.1.0 update, players will be able to learn more about the characters’ post-adventure experiences. According to Larian, “You’ll hear about the adventures they went on after you parted ways, how the journey shaped them, and their plans for the future.”
The studio says that it “will be pulling player feedback to help determine the content of these epilogues,” so there’s a chance we might hear about the adventures of non-origin characters, too.
Previous RPGs, like Baldur’s Gate 2, included endings for the player character based on their romantic partners. It’s unclear whether the same will be the case for Baldur’s Gate 3, but Larian Studios’ decision to include epilogues for origin characters at all hints that we might see something like this.
The studio also says that patch 2.1.0 will bring “major performance improvements, particularly for Act Three,” so that’s good news for anyone whose console has struggled with the game. The update is also likely to arrive around the PS5 launch on September 6, so keep an eye out for it then.
