Oliver is a shadow child tied to Halsin’s quest, and you can find him near the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint in the Shadow-Cursed Lands region. He’ll challenge you to a game of hide-and-seek, but things get a little tricky when you need to use some spells to find him.

If you’re playing a detect-focused character, you might be wondering how to win hide-and-seek with Oliver in Baldur’s Gate 3. There are a couple of things you can do to find the elusive shadow child, including using the See Invisibility spell or obtaining the Ersatz Eye. We’ll also explain how to find Oliver in the first game, as well as the rewards you get for winning.

How to find Oliver in hide-and-seek in Baldur’s Gate 3

To find Oliver in hide-and-seek in Baldur’s Gate 3, head to the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. From here, travel west until you find a stone path that cuts through the swamp. There’s a cart to the west that Oliver hides behind.

If you’re playing the second game, Oliver will instead summon shadow creatures to find you. He’ll then challenge you to a game of hide-and-seek, but will be able to see through your invisibility spells. The solution is to either use the See Invisibility spell, or go through the Blacksky Pass side quest and obtain the Ersatz Eye.

There are two ways to win hide-and-seek with Oliver in the first game, and both involve finding him. Use the See Invisibility spell or check the area where he’s hiding for a purple glow. You can also check the map for any areas with this effect to narrow down his location.
