How to Cure the Ilithid Parasite in Baldur’s Gate 3

Want to know how to cure the Ilithid parasite in Baldur’s Gate 3 and rid yourself of those pesky psychic powers? The Ilithid parasite is a dangerous threat, turning you into the very thing you’re trying to defeat. Thankfully, there’s a friendly Mind Flayer who can help. Omeluum, a friendly Mind Flayer, offers a solution to the Ilithid parasite problem.

You’ll meet Omeluum in the Myconid Colony within The Underdark. In order to remove the parasite, he requires two ingredients: Timmask plants and Tongue of Madness. Both items are native to The Underdark and can be found in its many areas, particularly the Arcane Tower where Timmask Spores are also present.

You’ll want to visit the Arcane Tower, particularly the area’s secret basement, to gather the following materials:

  • Timmask plants
  • Tongue of Madness

Once you’ve gathered the ingredients, Omeluum crafts a potion to lower the parasite’s defenses. However, it quickly realizes it’s unable to control the worm and the potion has no positive or negative effects. Upon realizing this, Omeluum asks you to make amends by giving him the Ring of Restorative Gravity.

Convince Omeluum to give you the Ring of Restorative Gravity in exchange for the “damage” he caused by attempting to remove the parasite. The Mind Flayer will agree and hands over the ring, which you can sell for 1700 Gold. The ring allows the wearer to pull a healed creature 2 meters closer.

That’s it, you’ve “cured” the Ilithid parasite in Baldur’s Gate 3. Despite the discussion, the parasite and Ilithid powers remain unaffected gameplay-wise. Still, you can always return to Omeluum later to receive the Ring of Restorative Gravity in return for the “damage” he caused.
