Baldur's Gate 3
Want to know what to expect from Baldur’s Gate 3? The massive RPG is filled with big choices and a detailed character creator – if you’re a D&D fan and have been waiting for a game like this your whole life, make sure you’re prepared. But if you’re not, don’t worry; you’ve got plenty of other games to finish first.
Yes, you’re going to want to finish games like Zelda, or maybe even Final Fantasy 16, but the longer you leave it, the more seasons of other games you’ll miss out on in the meantime. So, whatever you do, don’t rush into Baldur’s Gate 3 – take a break from your RPG game binge to play a few other games first. Here’s what you need to know about the new Baldur’s Gate.
Don’t rush in
Take a break from gaming, go outside, do something else for a bit, I don’t care, but make sure you’ve got other games under your belt before jumping into a massive RPG like Baldur’s Gate. Assuming you’ve done this already, you’ve probably got a few months to wait before it comes out, so take your time.
If you’re playing games like Final Fantasy 15 right now, you’ve probably got a year or two left before it comes out, so finish other games, then come back to Baldur’s Gate 3 when it’s closer to release. The longer you leave it, the more seasons of other games you’ll miss out on, but if you’re playing a game like Zelda, you’ll have time to play both before jumping into the new D&D game.
Take your time with the character creator
Baldur’s Gate 3’s character creator is a lot of fun, but it’s also incredibly detailed and could take hours to go through. You’ve got options for your eyes, nose, and jaw, as well as your tattoos, so you can make your character look pretty much however you want.
It’s a big game, so you’re going to want to be as prepared as possible, so if you’re a D&D fan, take the time to familiarize yourself with the rules, as the game is very much based on them. If you’re not a D&D fan, maybe this is a good time to try it out, get some of your friends to play, and then you’ll be ready to jump into the game.
Remember all the frustration being a kid trying to get your friends to play D&D? Now it’s your time to shine and make them play by making them play Baldur’s Gate. Just remember that you might miss out on certain scenes, like the bear sex scene.
Will you be able to achieve bear sex?
The short answer is yes, but you’ll have to make specific character choices and story decisions. Don’t spend too much time fixating on this scene and what you’ll have to do to get there (spoiler: you’ll have to have sex with a bear), because the reality is that you may never get there – there are a lot of paths to take in the game, and it may just not be on the path you’re on.
Just be aware that thinking about it, dwelling on it, and becoming obsessed with it could become a real thing that lives in your mind rent-free and has the capacity to ruin your day and fill your thoughts.
Finish other games
Take breaks from gaming, go outside, breathe, eat a sandwich, have a wank, but make sure you’re not so engrossed in your current game that you can’t think about anything else. Don’t let the fear of missing out on content overwhelm you and make you want to rush into the next big game – embrace the excitement of a new game and the anticipation of what it has to offer, then sit back and enjoy it.
And remember, gaming is meant to be fun, so take your time and have fun, and don’t stress about trying to finish every game, but savor the experiences you do have.
