All the current Baldur's Gate 3 classes and subclasses

Are you curious which Baldur's Gate 3 classes and subclasses we're hoping to see when the game launches? Larian Studios is shaping up to be one of the best-looking and most comprehensive RPGs out there, and we're eager to see how the full roster of characters and subclasses will shape up.

While we already know that every class and subclass from the Player's Handbook will be available, there are still some subclasses that haven't made the cut. Considering the excellent track record Larian has with turn-based RPGs, you can be sure that the best subclasses will be included, and we're already looking forward to the possibilities. Here are all the known subclasses for the Baldur's Gate 3 classes, and a few we're hoping to see in the Dungeons & Dragons game.

Baldur's Gate 3 subclasses

Every class in BG3 currently has access to the following subclasses:

  • Fighters are some of the most versatile subclasses in the game, with options like Battle Master, Eldritch Knight, and Champion. The Banneret would add a dynamic focused on inspiring allies and buffing the party. Taking inspiration from the Knight's Code, the Banneret would be a great addition to the roster.
  • Monks will be in BG3, with subclasses like Open Hand, Shadow, and Four Elements. Adding the Way of the Sun Soul subclass would provide more magical reliance and AoE potential compared to the existing subclasses.
  • Rogues currently lack the Swashbuckler subclass, which would add a more charming and silver-tongued playstyle to the game. Whether you're trying to woo a potential mark or just looking to get out of a sticky situation, the Swashbuckler could be a welcome addition.
  • Warlocks would benefit from the inclusion of the Undying subclass, offering more spells to choose from and a defense against diseases. Druids already have access to Moon, Spore, and Land circles, but the Circle of Stars would allow you to draw on the power of starlight to smite your foes.
  • Fighters have a variety of versatile subclasses, but Samurai would provide a stylish and unique playstyle. Drawing on the tenets of Bushido, you'd be able to channel your inner Liam Neeson in the action-adventure game.
  • The Barbarian class in Baldur's Gate 3 draws on primal rage, and adding the Totem Warrior subclass would offer customization through spiritual guides with powerful abilities.

That's all the known subclasses for the Baldur's Gate 3 classes, but there are still plenty of options that could make it into the game. With what we've seen so far, it's easy to see why so many people are hyped for the release of the next D&D game. If you're looking for some ways to pass the time until the release, why not try some of the best adventure games on PC, or perhaps a handful of the best classic games available right now.
