BlazBlue Entropy Effect beginner tips

BlazBlue Entropy Effect is a rogue-like spinoff of the famous fighting game series. Its RPG mechanics and platforming are similar to games like Hollow Knight, so it may take some time to get used to. To succeed, it’s essential that you review some BlazBlue Entropy Effect beginner tips to get off to a strong start.

There are plenty of characters in the game, but we recommend starting with Hibiki. Don’t play as the same character repeatedly to unlock Legacy Skills though; play with different characters to access their unique abilities and gain buffs as you perform better. Equip up to two characters at a time to maximize your chances of success.

While some of these tips may be more useful for advanced players, it’s important to review them all to unlock abilities and tactics as soon as possible.

Play as Hibiki

Play as a different character if you want, but we highly recommend starting with Hibiki to unlock his Legacy Skills as soon as possible. We also recommend starting with him regardless of your skill level, as his moveset is the easiest to grasp and his abilities are essential to your success.

Don’t play as the same character repeatedly to unlock Legacy Skills; instead, play as a different character to gain a buff. Playing as the same character repeatedly with a different character in the active roster will give a ten percent buff to their stats.

Play with different characters

By playing with a different character, you will have access to their unique abilities. Not only does this give you a buff, but also puts you in a position to gain buffs as you perform better. For example, if you have a character with a parry, you can pair them with a character with a reflect shield to gain a twenty percent overall buff to your parry’s damage.

Equip up to two characters

BlazBlue Entropy Effect doesn’t allow you to switch characters on the fly, so you have to be smart about your loadout. The game is heavily influenced by platforming, so you will often need to reposition quickly to avoid damage and attack enemies. You will also want to stall in the air to avoid traps.

Dashing is essential to all of this, so you will want to unlock this ability as quickly as possible. Dashing allows you to bypass certain enemies and allows you to stall in the air to avoid traps. It also allows you to quickly fall back to the ground after performing an air attack.

Watch for enemy attack indicators

Almost all enemy attacks glow red, so you should be able to notice them from a distance. If you see something glowing red, you should either move out of the way or dodge to avoid taking damage.

Area of Effect (AoE) upgrades

AoEs are one of the most powerful upgrades in the game, and for good reason. AoEs allow you to hit multiple enemies at once, which maximizes your damage output. Pair AoE skills with moves that hit multiple enemies for even more crowd control.

These upgrades are also very effective against bosses, as they allow for consistent damage output. Most bosses are vulnerable to some kind of crowd control, like grabs or the Down Smash skill, so you can use these moves to chip away at their HP.

Spend points on Mind Upgrades

Entropy Effect is heavily influenced by your character’s mind meter, which drains when using abilities or taking damage. Mind Upgrades help to increase your chances of success by reducing the drain on your mind meter when using skills. Putting as many points as possible into Mind Upgrades is crucial for your progress.

Revive upgrades and HP Siphon upgrades

There are several ways to be defeated in Entropy Effect, but the most common is to lose all of your health. Thankfully, HP Siphon upgrades allow you to gain some of your health back whenever you kill an enemy. Revive upgrades are just as important, as they allow you to revive on the spot instead of back at the checkpoint.

Unlock higher phases of rewards

We recommend focusing on the rewards on the left side of the screen first, as they will help you increase your HP, attack power, and more. As you continue to increase your phase of rewards, you will be able to access better upgrades.

Putting as many points as possible into HP Siphon upgrades is vital for your survival, but there are other rewards worth unlocking as well. With enough points in phase four, you can unlock phase five, which allows you to access phase six rewards.
