A Modern Warfare 3 Remake Reportedly Confirmed
A Modern Warfare 3 remake is seemingly confirmed by a leaked Monster Energy promotion, as the Call of Duty Day reveal approaches. The images suggest that a full remake of the classic FPS game is on the way, as speculation about the shooter’s return has been swirling since 2021.
While the game’s developer and publisher have yet to officially confirm the game’s existence, avid fans have been sharing the leaked images on Twitter – but they’re not thrilled with the new logo.
“Sure, why not,” one fan replies when asked if they’d play a Modern Warfare 3 remake. Another replies, “why? The best was MW2,” before adding, “but it’s MW3 so I’ll buy it.”
The original images, shared by user @algebra_sloth, have not been shared before, suggesting that the Monster Energy promotion is genuine. However, Activision has yet to confirm the game’s existence, and we’re eagerly awaiting the company’s official confirmation.
Rumours about a Modern Warfare 3 remake have been circulating for several years now, with reports that the game would be revealed in 2021, ahead of Call of Duty Day 2022. However, that didn’t happen, and speculation about the game’s return was reignited earlier this year by reports that Sony and Microsoft had reached a deal to share Call of Duty.
This means that Call of Duty will be available on all platforms – PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. Sony originally turned down an offer for exclusive rights to all of Activision Blizzard’s games, but the company has the right to other Activision Blizzard IPs, which may become Xbox exclusives.
Call of Duty Day is November 2023.
While the leaked images suggest that the game is on the way, no official release date has been announced. However, earlier this year, reports emerged that Modern Warfare 3 would release on November 2023, just in time for Call of Duty Day.
In other Call of Duty news, the next game in the series is reportedly an Overwatch-style battle royale game. While the shooter is available on all platforms, the Xbox One version allegedly has “significant performance issues.”
