A Call of Duty esports team faces parental criticism over delayed meal times
A Call of Duty Esports team has been “burned” by a concerned parent, who complains that they won’t be eating until their ranks in the FPS game go up. Many of the user’s friends find the comment amusing, with one remarking that it’s a “mom burn,” and others referring to the “wild nature” of gamer parents.
“My son got invited to a gaming tournament and the team is posting about their wins on Instagram,” the parent writes. “They haven’t actually won anything yet, but they’re working on it. I’m not even that upset, it’s just the principle of the thing.”
“I wish I were as upset as you,” one of the player’s friends replies. “Can we get a statement from the team, just to see how they feel about all this?” Another says, “I didn’t know being hungry was a punishable offense.”
“I’d only eat at this point if I’m convinced they’re actually going to win something,” another jokes. “Otherwise I’ll just wait for them to get a blue.”
“A blue what?” another replies. “A blue ribbon?”
“Blue is what you call flash cooked raw meat,” a user explains. “Rare is a more commonly available option.”
“I remember ordering a ‘blue’ steak at Denny’s once and enjoyed it despite the risks,” another adds.
There are also a number of comments interest in finding out the original artist of a piece in the post, a “savage Call of Duty dad” drawing. “The artist is The Pigeon Gazette,” one replies. “Check out some more of their work, they’re really good.”
There are also a few comments relating to women’s esports, with one stating, “There’s women’s Call of Duty now?”
