Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles Tier List

Let’s see who ends up at the top of the list in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. While the first game had a diverse cast of characters, the newer sequel has a more streamlined design. As a result, there are fewer changes to the rules when it comes to character tiers.

While the anime game lacks the diversity of its predecessor, it more than makes up for it with beautiful animations and interactive gameplay. This means you won’t have to worry about playing a boring, static game with a lack of excitement. Instead, Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba: The Hinokami Chronicles is a fun fighting game that’s easy to pick up but difficult to master.

S Tier

The S Tier consists of characters with strong attacks, great meter usage, and excellent pressure capabilities. These are the best characters to use in the game, and they’ll be easy to learn if you’ve played similar fighting games before.

The S Tier is home to the following characters:

  • Akaza - The leader of the Nine-Tails, Akaza is the strongest character in the game with fantastic attacks and incredible meter usage. He also regenerates his meter quickly, allowing for even more pressure on opponents.

A Tier

The A Tier includes characters with similar perks but have one or two flaws holding them back. These characters aren’t as strong, but they still have potential if you know how to play them correctly.

The A Tier is home to the following characters:

  • Enmu - The best zoner with fast-charging ranged attacks for safety. Her damage output may not be the best, but she can keep opponents at a distance so you can chip away at their health bar. Her weakness is her recovery rate, which makes her vulnerable to aggressive opponents.
  • Susamaru - The second-best zoner with the highest damage output in the game. However, playing him is risky as you can get punished if you don’t land attacks properly.
  • Nezuko Kamado - The best character with a strong neutral game and consistent damage. She has an incredible recovery rate, making her a great choice for aggressive play. Her weakness is her struggle to punish opponents who manage to block her attacks.
  • Zenitsu Agatsuma - A safe character with high damage output and great recovery rates. He has a good assist and can keep opponents at a distance with his Water Wheel. His weakness is dealing with mid-range positioning.
  • Hinokami Tanjiro - A strong character with a fantastic neutral and damage output. Mastering him can be challenging due to inconsistent tracking and unpredictable wall interference. However, if you can practice his combos and strategies, you’ll be able to deal with aggressive opponents with ease.
  • Giyu Tomioka - Known for his fast Water Wheel, Giyu is invaluable in a competitive setting. He has a strong assist and effective pressure tools. His weakness is mid-range positioning.
  • Rengoku - With a strong assist, decent recovery rates, and strong pressure capabilities, Rengoku is a formidable character. However, he is easily punishable if combos aren't executed correctly.
  • Water Tanjiro - A well-rounded character suitable for beginners. He has good damage and resets, making it easier to learn combos during training mode. His biggest flaw is struggling with meter conservation.
  • Rui - A great reset and zoner, but he is expensive and players have adapted to zoning. It’s better to use him as an assist or secondary character instead.
