The Fallout 3 Deathclaw and its Internet Popularity

The Fallout 3 Deathclaw is a fan favorite, and it turns out the creature's designer is amazed by, and a little horrified by, the prevalence of Deathclaw porn. Working on Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim as a designer, Jonah Lobe was responsible for the look of the Fallout 3 Deathclaw, and he's now responded to the abundance of Deathclaw smut on the internet.

In a tweet thread, Lobe describes some of his design decisions for the Deathclaw, from its hulking physique to its toothy scowl and lion-like eyes. The designer then goes on to mention the soft skin of the Deathclaw's muscular belly and the "tender pink" around their nostrils, which are among the factors that have contributed to the internet's obsession with the creature.

"Guys, I'm telling you, it's got a soft belly," Lobe says. "And pink nostrils." The designer then expresses a mix of horror and awe at the popularity of Deathclaw smut, adding, "I don't want to knock it, or criticize anyone's preferences, but ... damn."

Lobe then engages in a playful back-and-forth with a fan who confesses to feeling responsible for the phenomenon, replying, "I'm not mad, but I do have questions." The designer goes on to express a hope that Deathclaw smut "isn't hurting anybody," before commenting, "I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight, honestly."

While Lobe doesn't cite any specific sources, the article does mention the abundance of Deathclaw porn available online, which we're going to trust you to look into for yourself (don't say you were never warned). The author also adds a humorous touch by describing an excerpt from the Deathclaw's official description, which describes the creature as a "demonic beast [with] a 20-foot height," and "large, serrated teeth."

"Now, think about this for a second," the author continues. "The internet loves creatures like the Deathclaw, who could potentially just come and eat you." The article then goes on to suggest that a Deathclaw-esque description wouldn't make for a great dating profile, but perhaps it would work.

If you've ever wondered what a Deathclaw might look like wearing a pair of aviator sunglasses, then you're in luck, because the internet has an answer to that question as well.
