Fallout TV Series Concept Art
Fallout fans are celebrating the arrival of a Fallout TV Series concept art poster, which is already generating excitement for the Amazon show.
While news of the adaptation has left some fans skeptical, this poster suggests there might be good reason to be optimistic. Plus, we’ve even got a fun Fallout 4 character reference you might have missed.
The Last of Us adaptation left some fans worried about future game-to-screen adaptations. But Fallout seems like a perfect fit for a TV show, with its rich world, deep lore, and countless locations. And while we’re still waiting on casting news, this poster has already got us feeling optimistic.
The poster, shared by The Outside Source on Twitter, shows a Los Angeles skyline, with the Hollywood sign partially obscured by smoke. It’s simple, but it captures the series’ style perfectly.
“LA?!” some fans query. While it doesn’t necessarily reflect the exact setting of the show, the Fallout Wiki confirms it takes place in LA, and the series’ first season will be set on the West Coast. In fact, this could be a good thing – the earlier Fallout games were set here, and it offers the potential for some interesting connections with the Fallout 2 and New Vegas games.
“I’m so relieved it’s west coast,” one user comments. “They’re not going to ruin LA like they did Boston,” another replies. “The fact that we’re getting a Fallout TV show is already a miracle,” a third user writes.
Some fans reference Fallout 3, and wonder why the series would be set in LA if Bethesda’s game was already a perfect fit for an adaptation. “Hopefully the showrunner played Fallout 3,” one user replies.
Others take the opportunity to reference the disappointment of the Halo series. “I would take a Fallout TV series over a Halo one any day,” one user writes, while another shares a gif of Eric Cartman crying with joy.
There are plenty of suggestions for future Fallout TV shows, with one user hoping for a New Vegas remake to accompany the series. “As long as they don’t do a Vegas show,” another replies.
Some users are concerned about Amazon’s track record with TV adaptations. Personally I quite like the Lord of the Rings show, though I acknowledge it’s not for everyone. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned about the potential for a soulless game-to-screen adaptation.
Others are already predicting a Fallout TV show will be just as bad, with one user singing a modified version of the Fallout song in their best Lemmy Kilmister voice.
In any case, positive comments flood in. “This is so cool,” one user writes, “fallout is the most perfect game universe to be brought to the screen,” another agrees.
